I loved that scene but I wish that dream did not come in the middle of it.
Did you feel anything during the dream sequences?
Seriously though, the dreams didn't bother me too much in the game. I could certainly have done without them and allways thought of the dead child / nightmare 'subplot' as a bit cheezy but I think I can appreciate what they tried to say.
Regarding the Shep / Liara romance scene specifically the dream sequence was for me basically just a short interplay to set the mood for the (actually important) further interaction between the two.
